Mary L. Frishkorn, 82, of Zelienople died Friday at the Passavant Retirement Community surrounded by her family.

Born Feb. 20, 1927, in Mars, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Jennie (Forsythe) Kennedy.

Mrs. Frishkorn attended Duff's Business School in Pittsburgh.

She was a former member of the Calvin Presbyterian Church, Zelienople, where she had been the manager of the Zelienople Senior Center.

Mrs. Frishkorn also worked at the Zelienople Green House.

She loved animals and had a passion for Saint Bernards and Labs. Mrs. Frishkorn was an avid Steelers fan who enjoyed entertaining and traveling. She also enjoyed leading and participating in skits, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

She is survived by seven children, Patricia Ann Goetz of Zelienople, Betty Lou Nirnberger of Bellefonte, Pa., Edward LaVerne Frishkorn of Pittsburgh, John Allen Frishkorn of Butler, Norma Elaine Frishkorn of Manorville, Mary Jane Houk of Zelienople and James Jay Frishkorn of Ewa Beach, Hawaii; a sister, Norma Gail Keffer of New Wilmington; and a brother, Ray L. Kennedy of Thompson, Ohio. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel E. Frishkorn, who died May 31, 2003.

<B>FRISHKORN</B> — Friends of Mary L. Frishkorn, who died Friday, Sept. 25, 2009, will be received from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Seaman Memorial Chapel at Passavant Retirement Community, 401 S. Main St., Zelienople, where funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. on Tuesday.Memorial donations may be made to the Passavant Retirement Community Benevolent Care Fund, 401 S.
