M. Angelo Monfre

M. Angelo Monfre, 91, of 420 Franklin St. died early this morning at his home.

Born Oct. 20, 1917, in Butler, he was a son of the late Charles and Clementina (Bullano) Monfre, and his stepmother who raised him, Costanza (Marini) Monfre.

He was a 1936 graduate of Butler High School. He graduated from the Maison Felix Beauty Academy in Pittsburgh in 1946 and was the owner of the Angelo Monfre Beauty Salon in Butler for more than 50 years.

Angelo was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Butler and the Associated Artists of Butler County, where he received awards for his acrylic paintings.

Surviving are two sons, Timothy C. Monfre and David M. Monfre, both of Butler; two daughters, Mrs. Timothy (Jolene) Willard and Mrs. Eugene (Fontaine) Seezox, Jr., all of Butler; and five grandchildren, Sean, Corbin, Tori, Sydney and Rachel.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Angela C. (Nanni) Monfre, whom he married Feb. 8, 1956, and who died March 22, 2006; a brother, Joseph Monfre; and an infant brother, Paul.

<B>Monfre </B>—<B> </B>Friends of M. Angelo Monfre, who died Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Butler with Rev. James Dolan, pastor, officiating.
