Michael A. Zupanek, 69, of Cabot died Saturday at his residence.

Born Jan. 26, 1940, he was the son of Anthony and Virginia Zupanek.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957.

He worked as a truck driver for John W. Thrower Concrete, retiring in 2005.

He was a member of the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church.

He enjoyed reading and serving at his church.

Surviving are wife, Velma Jean (Cratty) Zupanek, who he married Oct. 9, 1982; three sons, Robert Zupanek of Farmville, Va., Michael Zupanek of Colorado and Mitch Zupanek of Colorado; his stepson, Roy Koegler of Saxonburg; three stepdaughters, Susan (Robert) Warheit of Prospect, Marsha (Keith) Acre of Butler and Sharon Deahl of Butler; two brothers, Raymond Zupanek of Gibsonia and David Zupanek of Pittsburgh; two grandsons; 10 step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his first wife, Rosemary Sekera Zupanek.

<B>ZUPANEK</B> — Friends of Michael A. Zupanek, who died Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery.Memorial donations may be made to the St. Joseph Church, 315 Stoney Hollow Road Cabot, PA 16023.Information also is available at www.foxfuneralhomeinc.com.
