Daniel P. Simmer
Daniel P. Simmer, 64, of Butler died peacefully at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday at Good Samaritan Hospice, Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.
Born March 6, 1945, in Butler, he was a son of the late Roland C. and Betty (Hilgas) Simmer.
He was a 1963 graduate of Butler High School and had worked at the Pullman Standard Car Co. in Butler until the plant closed. He then was the used car manager for Baglier Buick in Butler for the past 27 years.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora, was an avid Steeler fan, enjoyed golfing and hunting, and especially loved spending time with his grandson, Nathan.
A veteran of the Vietnam War, he had served in the U.S. Army.
Surviving are his wife, Lois A. (Herrock) Simmer, who he married Sept. 5, 1964; two daughters, Jennifer L. Wolfe and her husband, John, of North Washington and Danielle R. Dickey and her husband, Aaron, of Butler; a grandson, Nathan Daniel Dickey; three sisters, Diana Waldron and her husband, Michael, of Kingsland, Ga., Rebecca Fullerton and her husband, Daniel, of Sarver and Linda Simmer of Butler; a brother, Neil Simmer and his wife, Becky, of Butler; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by an infant sister.
<B>SIMMER</B> — There will be no visitation. Private services for Daniel P. Simmer, who died Wednesday. Nov. 11, 2009, will be held for his family. Interment will take place in Rose Hill Cemetery, Butler.Arrangements are by <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E.
