KDKA's Honsberger dead at 58
Veteran Pittsburgh radio personality Fred Honsberger died this morning at his Monroeville home. He was 58.
KDKA Radio announced his death this morning. Honsberger's last show was Dec. 8.
Honsberger joined KDKA in 1979 after working as a news anchor at sister station KYW in his hometown of Philadelphia. He began at KDKA as a news anchor and reporter working the night shift, and as John Cigna and Roy Fox's newsman.
Later, he was named KDKA Radio's news director, a position he held from 1984 to 1989. Following that, he became a talk show host.
