Myers 50th anniversary
Ronald and Joan Myers of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage with friends in Avon Park, Fla.
Myers married the former Joan Deahl on Dec. 18, 1959, at the home of the groom's parents in Sligo, Clarion County.
They have three children, Rodney Myers of Butler, Bryan Myers of Cana, Va., and Deanna Moser of Butler. Another child, Dale Myers, is deceased.
They also have six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mr. Myers retired on May 1, 2001, as a heavy equipment operator at Heckett MultiServ, a division of Harsco, formerly of Butler. He also worked for C&K Coal of Clarion and Ferro-Slag, a division of Spang & Co. of Butler. He was an active member of the Penn Township Volunteer Fire Company for 19 years, many of which he also served as financial secretary. He is a member of the Masonic Lodge 277 of Clarion.
Mrs. Myers was active in the United Methodist Women and also served as the treasurer. She also was treasurer for the Lydia Fellowship and active in the Aglow Fellowship. She enjoys line dancing.Mr. and Mrs. Myers enjoy camping, square dancing, playing dominoes and card games with family and friends and spending winters in Florida.Mr. and Mrs. Myers attend the First United Methodist Church in Butler.
