Thomas P. Keown Sr.
Thomas P. Keown Sr., 84, of Butler Township died at 7:55 a.m. Saturday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born in Butler, Aug. 19, 1925, he was the son of Ira Keown and Katherine Pringle.
He was a welder for 38 years at Pullman Standard and retired in 1981.
Mr. Keown was a Protestant.
A veteran of the Navy, he served in World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post 778 of Lyndora and the VFW Post 249 of Butler.
Surviving are his wife, Lorraine B. (Weidenhof) Keown, who he married April 2, 1948; two daughters, Pamela Salopek of Butler and Kandice Ihlenfeld of Butler; a son, Thomas Keown Jr. of Butler; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Lucille Keys of Greenbelt, Md.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
<B>KEOWN</B> — Friends of Thomas P. Keown Sr., who died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, Butler. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Chris Easton of the Church of the Nazarene, Butler, officiating.
