Willis L. Sheakley Sr.
Willis L. Sheakley Sr., 66, of Karns City passed away late Sunday evening at his home.
Born in Butler, he was the son of the late Carl and Nellie Fry Sheakley.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Double Sheakley, who he married Feb. 22, 1982.
Willis was an independent contractor delivering bulk newspapers for the Butler Eagle for many years.
He was a member of the Trappers Association as well as a professional trapper in Mississippi. He also belonged to the Coon Hunters Club and was an avid ginseng hunter.
Willis served in the Army Reserves for many years in the artillery.
In addition to his wife Sharon, he is survived by six daughters, Samantha Sheakley Ackerman (Pat) of Mount Troy, Wendi Crawford Donachy (David) of Russell, Cindi Crawford Groves of Kansas, Sherry Sheakley Rice of Butler, Ginger Sheakley Cousins (DeWayne) of Butler and Betty Sheakley Packets (Greg) of Butler; one son, Willis Sheakley Jr. of Butler; one sister, Edith Sheakley of Butler; one brother, Gerald Sheakley (Jeanine) of Butler; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
