Constantine I. Chitu, 74, of Butler passed away at 10:55 a.m. Tuesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

He was born Feb. 9, 1935, in Romania, the son of the late John Chitu and Maria Chitu.

He was a farmer and a carpenter.

Surviving are his son and his wife, Leslie and Vicky Chitu of Butler; a granddaughter, Irena Chitu; three brothers; and two sisters.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elana Chitu, who died in 1998.
