Van and Jeanne Smith

Van and Jeanne Smith of Butler recently celebrated 50 years of marriage.

Smith married the former Jeanne Renick on Dec. 26, 1959, at Mars United Presbyterian Church in Mars.

They have three children, Sally Hangliter of Seven Fields, Debbie Loughry of Grove City and Doug Smith of Ocean City, Md.

They also have seven grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.

Smith is the owner and superintendent of Stoughton Acres Golf Course. He is a member of the NWPA Golf Course Superintendents Association and an avid fan of local high school sports. He also is a church elder.

Mrs. Smith is co-owner of Stoughton Acres Golf Course. She is a member of Freedom of Choice in Cancer therapy group.

The Smiths attend Faith Presbyterian Church.
