Lucille E. Johnston, 73, of Valencia died peacefully at her home Tuesday with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in Pittsburgh, Dec. 13, 1935, to Wallace and Helen (Stewart) Nobbs.

Lucy was a member of Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church, helped with Meals on Wheels, participated in the Silver Sneakers at the Ice Connection and was a member of the Red Hat Ladies, where she enjoyed monthly luncheons and bus trips to see shows or visit casinos.

She enjoyed bingo, bowling and spending time with her friends, family and her two dogs. Every Thursday was shopping day for Lucy and her best friend, Marion.

Once she was done raising her children, she enjoyed spending her leisure time reading and having her glass of wine. Lucy loved her grandchildren and spent countless hours attending their school activities and sports activities.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Lloyd Charles Johnston; her children, Kim (Randy) Adams of Texas, Mark (Lesa) Johnston of West Sunbury, Linda Johnston of Butler and Renee (Adam) Vincik III of Saxonburg; and her grandson, Michael Kerchner of Pittsburgh, who she raised. In addition to Michael, she has eight other grandchildren, Jason and Ashley of Texas, Mark, Tanya and Bobby of West Sunbury, Dalton and Nichole of Saxonburg and Adam Vincik IV of Pittsburgh. Lucy also is survived by three brothers, Kenneth Nobbs of West View, Wallace Nobbs of Washington, D.C., and Butch Nobbs of Florida; and a sister, Eleanor Miller of Saxonburg. She became a second grandmother to her best friend's granddaughter, Shannon Griffin, and great-grandma to Shannon's two boys.

<B>JOHNSTON</B> — A private blessing service for Lucille E. Johnston, who died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009, will be held at the <B>Schellhaas Funeral Home</B>, Bakerstown, with Father Albert Semler and the Rev. Dr. Richard A.
