May Ann G. Hancheck
Mary Ann G. Hancheck, 60, of Butler passed away Thursday morning at Valley View Home in Altoona after an extended illness. She had been living in Altoona.
She was born in Butler on Sept. 18, 1949, a daughter of the late Andrew and Margaret Michel Hancheck.
A 1967 graduate of Knoch High School, she earned at bachelor's of science degree in math and computer sciences in 1971 at the University of Pittsburgh.
She was an active member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, Butler, where she taught CCD for more than 20 years.
She was employed by Mekis Construction in Fenelton, and also served as the Penn Township auditor, an office to which she was just re-elected.
She is survived by a daughter, Margaret Hancheck McMinn, and son-in-law Robert C. McMinn of Altoona; a granddaughter, Olivia Grace McMinn of Altoona; a sister, Patricia Kay Norling, and her husband, John Norling, of Butler; two brothers, Andrew A. Hancheck Jr. of Johnstown and Ronald L. Hancheck of Butler.
She was loved and will be missed by her niece, Katherine Ann Norling, and her husband, Thomas Mosley, and their son, Jonathan of Butler.

Hancheck, who died Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the <B>GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME,</B> 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler.The family requests memorial donations be made to the Butler County Humane Society, 1015 Evans City Road, Renfrew, PA 16053St. Paul's Guild and Christian Mothers will recite the rosary at 12:40 p.m. Saturday at the church.
