Phyllis Jean Watterson
Phyllis Jean Pyle Watterson, 80, of Worthington, Armstrong County, moved peacefully to her heavenly home at 4:38 p.m., Friday at her home after a yearlong battle with ovarian cancer.
She was born in East Franklin Township, May 23, 1929, a daughter of the late Max H. and Nellie M. Toy Pyle.
Mrs. Watterson was a housewife and a home health care giver. She was a member of Butler's First United Methodist Church, and she was currently attending Kittanning Free Methodist Church.
She was an avid bowler and quilter, and a faithful pastor's wife for 46 years.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, the Rev. Earl F. Watterson of Worthington; six daughters, Brenda (Dean) Corp of Edinboro, Nancy (Gary) Shilling of Middleburg, Fla., Barbara (Chester) Harris of Canton, Ohio, Joyce Campbell of Lower Burrell, Sue (Prentice) West of Worthington, and Charlene (Wayne) Jackson of Augusta, Ga.; a son, Robert E. (Karen) Watterson of Manorville; 21 grandchildren, Amy (Teddy) Smith, Becky (Kevin) Glander, Dean F. Corp, Mary P. Longstreth, Chad Shilling, Carrie (Philip) Harp, Kendall Shilling, Melanie (Cory) Fierbaugh, Sean (Cortni) Harris, Brent (Debbie) Harris, Natalie (Shawn) Jackson, Nathan Taninan, Nick Watterson, Joey (Tracy) Kelsey, Joshua (Pam) Kelsey, Jason (Jennifer) Kelsey, Emily Jackson, Katie Jackson, Bria Watterson, Kiera (Matthew) Wolfe and Kenny Hartman; and 25 great-grandchildren, Justin Smith, Alyssa Smith, Garrett Glander, Klesey Glander, Annamarie Corp, Christian Corp, Derrick Longstreth, Danille Longstreth, Nolan Harp, Aidan Fierbaugh, Benjamin Fierbaugh, Liam Fierbaugh, Westley Harris, Adalynn Harris, Chloe Harris, Elizabeth Jackson, Kerstain Kelsey, D.J. Kelsey, Damina Kelsey, Devon Kelsy, Emalei Kelsey, Hunter Wolfe, Brady Wolfe, Laney Wolfe and Chloey Toy.
She is also survived by four brothers, George (Linda) Pyle, Jack (Judy) Pyle, Floyd (Bertha) Pyle and Jerry (Sandy) Pyle; and three sisters, Delores (Foster) Bolte, Nancy (Reed) Bowser and Catherine (Clarence) Elliott.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five bothers, Eugene Toy, Max Pyle Jr., Arthur Pyle, Lester Pyle and an infant brother, Lloyd Pyle; and a son-in-law, Dean Corp.
<B>WATTERSON — </B>Friends of Phyllis Jean Pyle Watterson, who died Friday, Dec. 11, 2009, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at <B>F. DUANE SNYDER FUNERAL HOME</B> in Worthington. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Kittanning Free Methodist Church with an additional viewing an hour before the service at the church. The Rev. Wayne Sawyer, pastor, will officiate.
