NASHVILLE, Tenn.— The Nashville Outlaws have become the latest Prospect League franchise, bringing the summer collegiate baseball circuit to 15 teams.
The league was divided into three five-team divisions for the 2010 season. The Butler BlueSox and Slippery Rock Sliders join Chillicothe (Ohio), Lorain (Ohio) and Beckley (W.Va.) in the East Division.
The Prospect League schedule will expand from 54 to 56 games as well.
LA QUINTA, Calif. — Long-hitting Bubba Watson shot a 10-under 62 at SilverRock to take a two-stroke lead after the second round of the rain-delayed Bob Hope Classic.Rain wiped out play Thursday and threatened Friday, but there were just enough hours in between squalls for an impressive day by Watson, who's trying to show there's more to his game than his jaw-dropping drives. He was at 16-under 128 after taking on the tournament's two toughest courses in his first two rounds.
SPOKANE, Wash. — There's no arguing with Meryl Davis and Charlie White's lead. No questioning the authenticity of their Bollywood-style dance, either.Davis and White won the original dance Friday night, extending their lead and moving one step closer to an upset victory over Olympic silver medalists Tanith Belbin and Ben Agosto at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships. Davis and White are 1.62 points ahead going into Saturday's free dance, a margin that is difficult to make up in dance.
PARK CITY, Utah — Shaun White, the defending Olympic halfpipe champion won the U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix Friday, scoring 49 during a near-perfect run to beat Scotty Lago by 1.3 points.It was White's third victory in four Grand Prix starts this year. He unveiled a new trick in the process, one he hopes will help him find gold at Vancouver next month.
