Funerals set for 3 teens

Visitation and funeral services for the three teens who drowned following a vehicle accident this week will take place this weekend and stretch into next week.

The three Seneca Valley High School seniors, Sam Bucci, Trevor Barkley and Elijah Lunsford, died when the sport utility vehicle they were in slid off Ben Venue Road in Zelienople, hit a tree and overturned in a lake. The vehicle was discovered about 1 a.m. Wednesday.

Visitation for Bucci is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, with services at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 215 N. Main St., Zelienople.

Visitation for Barkley is from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the social room at the Grace Church of Harmony, 538 Main St., Harmony, with services at 11 a.m. Monday at the church.

Visitation for Lunsford is from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Zelienople American Legion, 308 W. New Castle St., with services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the English Lutheran Church, 200 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.

For details on the arrangements, see their obituaries on Page 6. Additional obituary information will be published in the Sunday Butler Eagle.

Meanwhile, Zelienople Police Chief Jim Miller says he doesn't think alcohol or speeding was involved in the crash. He said toxicology results could take several weeks.

Miller said the vehicle also would be examined for mechanical problems.

Butler County Coroner William Young III has ruled the deaths accidental by drowning. He said autopsies would not be done.
