Ruth Hazel Ihlenfeld Murphey, 86, of Virginia Beach, Va., passed away Saturday at her home.

A native of Butler, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Janet Ihlenfeld.

She retired from Butler Memorial Hospital as the assistant director of nursing.

She is survived by her husband, David G. Murphey; two daughters, Carla Morrisette and her husband, Alan, and Mariann Goliff and her husband, Keith, all of Virginia Beach, Va.; five grandchildren, Adam Morrisette and his wife, Annie, of Virginia Beach, Va., Jacob Murphey, Marena Murphey and Janna Goliff, all of Virginia Beach, Va., and Katrina Walters of Pennsylvania; and a brother, Carl Ihlenfeld and his wife, Sally, of Tennessee.

She was predeceased by a son, Rolland Murphey; and a grandchild, Shawn Murphey.

<B>MURPHEY</B> — A memorial service for Ruth Hazel Ihlenfeld Murphey, who died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Scott Memorial United Methodist Church, 409 First Colonial Road, Virginia Beach, Va., with the Rev. John Price officiating.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad.
