Donna Joanna Morrow Hutchison, 90, of Chicora passed away Monday at the Chicora Medical Center in Chicora.

She was born April 6, 1919, in Karns City, the daughter of the late Herbert Matthew Morrow and Violet (Black) Morrow.

Donna was a 1937 graduate of Concord Township High School, where she was the valedictorian of her senior class. She attended the Butler Memorial Hospital School of Nursing.

She was a nurses' resident director at the former Deshon Hospital, now VA Butler Healthcare. She retired from Clarion University after more than 25 years, where she was a housemother and resident hall supervisor.

Donna was a lifelong and the oldest member of Zion Lutheran Church. She was a faithful, hard-working member of her church, where she served on the church council, hosted the Women's Missionary Society and helped wherever she was needed.

She will be remembered as a giving, caring person who loved and enjoyed helping her friends and family when they were in need.

Donna spent hours working crossword puzzles and had a vast vocabulary. She took pleasure in doing embroidery and crafts and making many gifts for her family and friends.

Surviving are her son, James and Sue Hutchison of Kittanning; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Rachael Lineman of Bruin; two brothers, Joseph Morrow of Butler and Quay Morrow of Karns City; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Robert, Richard "Lee" and Darrell Morrow; a niece; and two nephews.

<B>HUTCHISON</B> — Friends of Donna Joanna Morrow Hutchison, who died Monday, Dec. 28, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Zion Lutheran Church with lay pastor Ginger DiTullio officiating.
