Mary Jane Fetterman, 88, of Newhaven Court in Butler died Monday at the Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born Sept. 17, 1921, in Butler, a daughter of the late John N. and Magdalen Kohnen Sinz.

Mary Jane was a homemaker and a member of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian. She was a former member of the St. Peter Roman Catholic Church and the women's council of St. Peter's Parish.

She enjoyed playing bingo, reading, cooking and baking, and especially loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Clarence "Ed" Fetterman, who she married Jan. 15, 1941, survives. Also surviving are three sons and their wives, Gerald and Joyce Fetterman of Chicora, Thomas and Sarah Fetterman of Pine Bush, N.Y., and Michael Fetterman of Winter Park, Fla.; five daughters and their husbands, M. Elaine and Delmar Simpson of Butler, Marcia and Richard Marburger of Evans City, Rita and John Beitch of Evans City, Monica Crouse of River View, Fla., and Janet and Bruce Horstman of Butler; three brothers, Anthony Sinz of Florida, Victor Sinz of Butler and Charles Sinz also of Butler; and a sister: Magdalen Giallombardo of Butler. A daughter-in-law, Barbara Fetterman; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.

Two sons, Edgar and Charles Fetterman; a daughter-in-law, Karen Fetterman Corsivo; two brothers; and two sisters preceded her in death.

<B>FETTERMAN</B> — Friends of Mary Jane Fetterman, who died Monday, Jan. 11, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday from St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian. Interment will follow at the St. Peter Cemetery.The Bereavement Committee of St. Fidelis Parish will meet at 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home to recite the rosary.Memorial donations may be made to St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Butler, PA 16001.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
