Velma J. "Jo" Decker, 64, of Evans City died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010, at her home.

Born July 12, 1945, in Weathersfield, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Chester Delmar and Stella Agnes (Stuckey) Yount.

Mrs. Decker loved her family, and they always came first. Her two cats and three dogs were very important to her. She also enjoyed camping, reading, music and movies.

She is survived by her husband, Edward A. Decker, who she married Sept. 26, 1981; five children, Mindy Lockard and her husband, Art, of Kittanning, Terry Cochran and his wife, Kathleen, of Harmony, Steven Priester and his wife, Michelle, of Blawnox, Denise Priester of Fombell and Raymond Priester of Evans City; two stepchildren, Jennifer Lynn Decker and Edward Decker, both of Butler; two brothers, Carl Yount of Florida and Clarence Yount of Maryland; two sisters, Nellie Hawkins of Kittanning and Ruth Durst of Georgia; 13 grandchildren, Jeremy Ivan Smith, Sgt. 1st Class Andrew L. Smith, serving in Iraq, Jennifer Eileen Buerkle, Vicki Lynn Lutz, Amanda Sue Cochran, Jessica, Joshua, Sara and Emily Priester, Larry Ray Priester, Rebecca Joe Guzman, Nicole Priester and Evelyn Morris; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation and funeral services were private. Arrangements were entrusted to the Boylan Funeral Home, 116 E. Main St., Evans City.
