Roy T. Hyatt
Roy T. Hyatt, 89, of Butler, formerly of Sharpsburg, died at 4:10 a.m. Tuesday in Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born May 12, 1920, in Barren Springs, Va., he was the son of the late John T. Hyatt and Gertrude E. Martin Hyatt.
Mr. Hyatt had been a machinist fitter at Zimmerman & Jansen Co. in Glenshaw.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II, and he was a member of the Elks Lodge 932 in Etna.
Mr. Hyatt was a Protestant.
Mr. Hyatt is survived by his wife, Ruth Hyatt, who he married July 30, 1940; four sons, John Hyatt and his wife, Pauline, of Sharpsburg, Doug Hyatt of Pennsylvania, Denver Hyatt and his wife, Camille, of Monroeville and Keith Hyatt and his wife, Linda, of Slippery Rock; two daughters, Ruby Dann of Titusville, Fla.; and Debbie Foor of Quantico, Va.; 20 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Toni, and her husband, Ernie Clough of Florida; one brother, George Hyatt of Pittsburgh; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hyatt was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
<B>HYATT</B> — At the family's request, there will be no public visitation. Funeral services for Roy T. Hyatt, who died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Lakewood Memorial Park, 943 Route 910, Cheswick, with the Rev. Jeff Harris, of Trinity Presbyterian Church, officiating.
