Cress

Today I lost my best friend, my lover, my rock and my husband to a long and hard battle with alpha-1 antitrypsin disease.

Pat was born in Butler on March 1, 1964, and passed away at 9 a.m. on Jan. 22, 2010, at Concordia's Good Samaritan Hospice Unit.

We were blessed with four children. Jason Cress, our oldest, lives in Valencia along with our future daughter-in-law, Stephanie Lehnerd. Our middle child, Carol Cress, attends college at Sacred Heart University in Connecticut, and our peanut, Allyson Cress, lives at home. Our son, Benjamin Aaron, preceded his father in death.

Pat is also survived by two brothers, David Cress of Fenelton and James Cress of Butler; and one sister, Mrs. Shawna Stewart of Eau Claire. He was preceded in death by one baby sister.

His parents, Ralph Eugene Cress and Mary Ann (Yock) Cress, are also deceased.

Pat worked many jobs in his short life. He worked for the Butler Eagle from 1984 to 1987 as a pressman. He also proudly served in the U.S. Army Intelligence in Germany from 1987 to 1990. Pat worked at Eat-N-Park from 1990 to 1993 and at Magnetics from 1993 to 1999. Pat was currently employed at A.K. Steel as a pittman at the melt shop from 1999 to 2010.

An honest family man, Patrick spent most of his time caring for others and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Everyone who met him will miss his quick humor, generosity and love for life. Patrick loved to golf and fish. He was a huge Penguins and Steelers fan. He will surely be missed by all.

I love you, Patrick, forever and ever. Thanks for 24 wonderful years. I wouldn't trade them for anything.

<B>CRESS </B>— Friends of Patrick "Pat" C. Cress, who died Friday, Jan. 22, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, Saxonburg.
