Herman D. Wissinger

Herman D. Wissinger, 74, of Tarentum, formerly of Cabot, died Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born July 6, 1935, in Butler County, he was the son of Lawrence and Mabel (Doerr) Wissinger.

He worked as a machinist for Du-Co Ceramics for 44 years, retiring in 1997.

He was a member of Sarver Vets, the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company and the Saxonburg VFW.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports, reading, gardening and model trains.

Surviving are his son, Alan D. Wissinger of Emlenton; his daughter, Angie (Joe) Durci of Cabot; his companion, Elsie Hemphill of Tarentum; two brothers, Roger Wissinger of Butler and LaVerne Wissinger of Brookville; two sisters, Betty Burke of Butler and Blanche Rome of Butler; four grandchildren, Tanner, Clay, Kelly and Falan; and a great-grandson, Blaise.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Pearl Robb Wissinger, on Dec. 3, 1998; his parents; and three sisters, Velma Parr, Maxine Harvey and Jeanne Young.

<B>WISSINGER</B> — Friends of Herman D. Wissinger, who died Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Fox Funeral Home Inc.</B>, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. Services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Chris Marshall officiating.
