Andrew T. Mikula
Andrew T. Mikula, 82, of Butler passed away Wednesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born in Johnstown, he was the son of the late Andrew S. and Josephine Majcher Mikula.
He attended Colgate University and graduated from Washington and Jefferson College with a bachelor of arts degree in 1950. He received a master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1951.
He taught school in North Clarion for four years, Cranberry (Seneca, Pa.) for nine years and in Pine-Richland for 23 years, retiring in 1987.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy, where he was an aviation midshipman.
He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, Butler.
He is survived by his wife, M. Jane Wagner Mikula, to whom he was married for 57 years; six sons, Michael J. Mikula of Chicora, Daniel J. Mikula of West Sunbury, Stephan A. Mikula of Butler, Andrew E. Mikula of Aliquippa, James A. Mikula of Gatlinburg, Tenn., and Robert A. Mikula of Chicora; one daughter, Mrs. Ron (Mary Beth) Mercurio of Butler; one sister, Mrs. William (Andrea) Kodrowsky of Allison Park; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
