Richard E. Brown
Richard Edward Brown, 64, of Lewisberry, York County, died Thursday at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill, Pa.
Born April 19, 1945, in Boyers, he was the son of Joseph and Elizabeth Naples Brown.
Richard graduated from Grove City College and received a master's degree in special education from Slippery Rock University. His life's work was dedicated to children with special needs.
A devoted husband, Richard and Diane were blessed to have been married for 37 years.
Richard was a beloved brother, brother-in-law and very proud uncle. Everyone should have an Uncle Richard in their lives. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brothers and nephews and antiquing with Diane.
A caring and compassionate man, Richard touched countless lives with love and humor. He left everyone he met a better person for having known him. He was blessed with love, happiness and a caring family who will miss him with all of their hearts.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Diane Nosal Brown; two brothers, Regis Brown of Pittsburgh and Robert J. Christy of Butler; three sisters, Mary Bortot of Beaver, Emilie McFarland of New Castle and Ella Jane Fielding of Salem, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a precious niece, Anita; a beloved nephew, Robert; and a heroic brother, Samuel, who lost his life defending his country in Korea.
<B>BROWN</B> — Friends of Richard Edward Brown, who died Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 116 E. Main St., Evans City.
