LeLand L. Bartley
LeLand L. Bartley, 73, of Shoshoni, Wyo., formerly of Butler, died early Monday at his home.
He was born in Butler, Dec. 6, 1936, a son of the late Samuel and Lavern Whitmire Bartley.
LeLand was a retired letter carrier, having worked from the Allison Park post office. He retired July 30, 1996, following 34 years of service.
He was a former member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Butler
He was a proud veteran of the Korean War, having served in the U.S. Navy.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming, and especially loved raising and caring for animals.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Leight Bartley, who died Dec. 24, 1991. He also was preceded in death by a son, Robert Bartley, and his sister, Pauline Soule.
Surviving are a daughter, Debbie Weichey of Butler; five sons and their wives, William (Cathy) Bartley, Mike (Sharon) Bartley, Rick (Michelle) Bartley, Chuck (Debbie) Bartley and Jerry (Janet) Bartley, all of Butler; a brother, Dale (Jane) Bartley of Jersey Shore, Pa.; eight grandsons; nine granddaughters; eight great-grandchildren; and his friend and companion, Ann Lacey of Shoshoni, Wyo.
<B>BARTLEY</B> — Friends of LeLand L. Bartley, who died Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. Funeral Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Deacon Mitch Natali of St. Paul Catholic Church will officiate.
