Howard E. Weir

Howard E. Weir, 84, formerly of Cranberry Township, died Friday evening at the Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople.

Born in Bellevue, May 23, 1925, he was the son of the late George E. and Helen Emily Hubbard Weir.

Howard was a draftsman for Bricmont and Associates in Washington County.

He was a member of the Dutilh United Methodist Church in Cranberry Township.

Mr. Weir was an aviation ordnance man in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Surviving are his son, Mark D. Weir and his wife, Kathy, of Rochester; two grandchildren, Laura Weir of State College and Thomas M. Weir of Rochester; a brother, Francis Wayne Weir; and a sister, Marion Watson.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vernie Lubitz Weir, who he married Sept. 10, 1949, and who died Sept. 7, 2008; a brother, John Weir; and a sister, Dorothy Kelley.

<B>WEIR</B> — Friends of Howard E. Weir, who died Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8 p.m. today at the <B>McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home</B>, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. Services will follow at 8 p.m. today at the funeral home with the Rev. John Hoogebrugge of Passavant Retirement Community officiating.
