Thomas K. Harris Sr.
Thomas K. "Kert" Harris Sr., 86, a 15-year resident of Centertown Road, Grove City, formerly of Harrisville, died at 11:45 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Living Center in Grove City, where he had been a patient for one week.
He was born in Vicars, W.Va., Jan. 20, 1924, and was a son of Thomas C. Harris and Dessie L. Rhoads Harris.
Mr. Harris was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II.
After more than 25 years, he retired from Harrisville Hardware. Previously he was self-employed as a painter.
He was a Protestant.
Mr. Harris enjoyed going to flea markets and yard sales, fishing, and getting together with family members.
Surviving are his wife, Della M. (White) Harris, who he married Aug. 17, 1951, at home; three daughters, Judy D. Rodemoyer and her husband, Mark, of Grove City, Nancy M. Simpson and her husband, John, of McKean, Pa., and Cindy L. Harris of Rupert, W.Va; and two sons, Thomas K. Harris Jr. of Mercer and Robert L. Harris and his wife, Amy, of Grove City. Also surviving are seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Edna Mae Hunter and her husband, James, of Weirton, W.Va.; and two brothers, Orville Harris and his wife, Doris, of Ripley W.Va., and C. Eugene Harris and his wife, Kim, of Franklin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, David E. Harris Sr.; and one brother, Robert Harris.
<B>Harris</B> — Friends of Thomas K. "Kert" Harris Sr., who died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at <B>Jamison Funeral Home,</B> 117 N. Main St., Harrisville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Paul R.
