Burton C. Stewart, 53, of Barkey-Hoffman Road, Harrisville, died Monday at UPMC Presbyterian hospital in Pittsburgh after a brief illness. He had lived in the area most of his life.

Born Dec. 17, 1956, in Richmond, Va., he was the son of Brice T. Stewart and Shirley A. (Smith) Stewart.

He graduated in 1975 from Mars High School.

Mr. Stewart was self-employed, and he owned and operated Interstate Towing and Repair for the past 15 years.

He was a member of the Harrisville United Methodist Church.

Mr. Stewart was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

He enjoyed auto racing, drag racing and spending time with family and friends and his good friend, Tom Staab.

His first wife, Denise C. Stewart, who he married July 1, 1983, died May 13, 1993.

He married Linda L. (Trinko) Stewart on July 19, 1995. She survives along with a daughter, Hanna M. Stewart at home; his mother, Shirley A. Stewart of Harrisville; two sisters, Deborah E. Smith and her husband, Ronald L., of North Washington and LeAnn M. Munoz of Linesville; two brothers, Patrick F. Stewart and his wife, Jackie, of Harrisville and Kim W. Stewart and his wife, Cathy, of Grove City; several nieces and nephews; and his father-in-law, Thomas Trinko of Karns City.

He was preceded in death by his father, his first wife, an infant sister and a niece.

<B>STEWART </B>— Friends of Burton C. Stewart, who died Monday, Feb. 8, 2010, may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>Jamison Funeral Home</B>, 117 N. Main St., Harrisville. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Robert J. Guy Jr. of Barkeyville Church of God officiating.
