2:30 a.m. Wednesday — Sarah Elyce Archer, 21, with a last known address of Butler, is accused of felony assault for allegedly spitting at a Butler police officer after being arrested for drunken driving.Officer Cheryl Litz was on patrol when she spotted Archer on South Main Street make an illegal turn. Following a traffic stop on Roosevelt Boulevard, Archer was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence.Archer, who initially gave a false name, also was wanted on a bench warrant in Butler County.Litz took Archer to the state police barracks for a breath test. When there, the woman became "belligerent," tried to kick Litz and then spit on the officer, according to court documents.Archer eventually refused to take the breath test. She was arraigned Wednesday for the warrant issued last week when she failed to appear at a court hearing for a probation violation stemming from a 2008 theft case.Additionally, she was arraigned on charges of aggravated assault, DUI, false identification to law enforcement authorities, driving without a license, careless driving and not using turn signals.She is in Butler County Prison on $25,000 bail.9:33 p.m. Tuesday — Kenneth Kline, 37, was arrested for allegedly assaulting his wife, 38-year-old Jamie Kline, and his 15-year-old stepson during a domestic dispute at their Cleveland Street home. Kline was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment, and placed in Butler County Prison on $7,500 bail.
11:44 p.m. Monday — Austin Rottman, 18, of Butler is accused of shooting a paintball gun at a car on New Castle Road. Rottman and the victim were both driving vehicles at the time. The victim's car was hit more than once.Rottman is charged with unlawful discharge of a paintball gun, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief.
Monday — A suspected thief, who police did not identify, stole two checks from a Freeport Road home in North Buffalo Township. The suspect later filled out the checks for $100 each and cashed them. The theft and forgery happened between Friday and Monday.
