John G. Carothers Sr.

Carothers Sr.

John G. Carothers Sr., 71, of Harmony died Thursday at his home.

Born Oct. 3, 1938, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Phillip W. and Florence (Gregg) Carothers Sr.

Mr. Carothers retired as a heavy equipment operator and truck driver with Vogel Disposal after 33 years.

He is survived by wife, Margaret L. Carothers, to whom he has been happily married for 52 years; two sons, John G. Carothers Jr. and his wife, Tracey, of Alexandria, Va., and James Carothers and his wife, Carol, of Canton, Mich.; two brothers, Phillip Carothers and his wife, Mary, of Zelienople, and Albert Carothers and his wife, Debbie, of Evans City; two sisters, Ann Carothers of Harmony and Winnie Sharrar and her husband, Frank, of Zelienople; six grandchildren, Candice, Meredith, Natalie, Ashley, Jimmy and Nicholas Carothers; two great-grandsons, Jessie and Jimmy; and a great-granddaughter, Abagail Jean.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, David R. and James F. Carothers.
