Second "Sonny" Chiaraluna, 75, of Leesburg, Fla., died Saturday at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

Born Sept. 1, 1934, in Dunningtown, Pa., he was the son of the late Paris and Anna (Rebich) Chiaraluna.

Second was a 1954 graduate of Perry-Lower Tyrone High School, now Frazier High School. After attending Johns Hopkins University and Carnegie Mellon University, Second earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Pittsburgh.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force Reserves.

He was a member of the Sons of Italy Grand Lodge in Perryopolis, Pa.

After more than 40 years as an electrical engineer, Second retired from Union Switch & Signal.

An avid golfer and lover of music, Second enjoyed his retirement on the golf course and spending weekends dancing with his wife of 48 years.

He was the beloved husband of Sarah (Pyle) Chiaraluna; and loving father of Debora Chiaraluna, Tina Veon and her husband, Mark, Sandy Boyle and her husband, Dennis, Dan Chiaraluna and his wife, May, and Linda Andreassi, and her husband, Shawn. He also is survived by 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Janet Knight and her husband, William, and Mildred Lynn and her husband, Ralph; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

<B>CHIARALUNA</B> — Friends of Second "Sonny" Chiaraluna, who died Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home & Cremation Services</B>, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Father Charles S. Bober, officiating. Interment, with full military honors, will follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville.If desired, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.Online condolences and directions are available at www.glennkildoofuneralhome.com.
