Davis Jr.

Joseph A Davis Jr., 53, of Waycross, Ga., formerly of Sarver, passed away peacefully Feb. 18.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Foskey) Davis; his children, Joe (Theresa) Davis, Jodi (Chris) Smith, Jackie Davis, Kyle Davis, Lori (Michael) Strawder and Angela (Richard) Hood. He also is survived by 10 grandchildren; siblings, Karen (Bud) Davis, Pam (Fred) Rieck, Terry Klingensmith, Rick (Christina) Klingensmith, Linda McFarland, Kim (Dan) Klingensmith, Sherrie Klingensmith and Randy (Christine) Klingensmith; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Katherine (Johnston) Klingensmith and Joseph A. Davis Sr.

He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, having scouted for and playing for the AAA Pirates, a veteran of the U.S. Army, and he enjoyed sports card and coin collecting.

He previously worked for the Penn-Allegheny Coal Co. and ITI Nuclear Power.

He was an active member of the VFW and the FOE in Waycross.

<B>DAVIS </B>— A memorial service to celebrate the life of Joseph A. Davis Jr., who died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, at American Legion Post 226, 845 First Ave., Brackenridge. He will be laid to rest at Kettle Creek Cemetery, Waycross, Ga.Funeral arrangements were made by <B>Jacobs Funeral Home</B>, Blackshear, Ga.
