Eugene Gordon
Eugene "Gene" Gordon, 89, of Oil City, formerly of Butler, died Thursday.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving in World War II.
Gene was an original employee at Magnetics and retired as a supervisor. He became self-employed and owned and operated Gordon Sign Service.
He married Betty Hipwell on April 13, 1974, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, David (Holly) Gordon of Florida, Joel (Myrna) Gordon and Tim Gordon, both of Butler; two stepsons, David (Chin) Hipwell of Calif. and Ron (Bonnie) Hipwell of Mexico; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Maggie Yaple of Erie, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Jane Black Gordon, who died in 1970.
<B>Gordon </B>— A memorial service for Eugene "Gene" Gordon, who died Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Grace United Methodist Church, Oil City, officiated by the Rev. Ron Hipwell, his stepson.Arrangements are being handled by <B>Hile-Best Funeral Home</B>, Seneca.
