Evelyn I. Lage

Lage

Evelyn I. Lage, 93, formerly of Kriess Road and a resident of Newhaven Court, died Monday at her home.

She was born Jan. 9, 1917, in Kingsville, Clarion County, a daughter of the late Harry and Lillie Swabb Corb.

Evelyn was a graduate of Brookville High School. She attended Slippery Rock College followed by nursing school at Butler Memorial Hospital, where she earned her registered nurse's degree in 1948.

Mrs. Lage was a homemaker and mother. She also worked at the VA Butler Healthcare from 1967 through 1984.

Evelyn was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Butler.

Her husband, Henry E. Lage, who she married Dec. 9, 1950, preceded her in death July 1, 2006.

Surviving are her two sons, David E. Lage and his wife, Diane Lage, of Butler and William H. Lage also of Butler; a sister, Florence Korb of Hagerstown, Md.; and four grandchildren, Michele Pruce, Kristen Boban, Matthew Lage and Ryan Lage. Several nieces and nephews also survive her.

Two brothers, John and Merle Korb, preceded her in death.

<B>LAGE</B> — Friends of Evelyn I. Lage, who died Monday, March 22, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, March 29, at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. in Butler. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday from the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Panther, pastor, officiating.
