Roberta A. "Bobbie" Dean, 67, of Hall Road, Meadville, died Wednesday at her home following a battle with cancer.

She was born in Meadville, Oct. 8, 1942, a daughter of Marshall Raymond and Charlotte May Lillie Beatty.

She married Harry Wayne "Skip" Dean on May 25, 1963, and he preceded her in death.

Over the years, she worked at Talon Inc., Kroger's, D&L Tool and most recently at the Meadville Unemployment Office.

She was a graduate of Meadville High School.

She enjoyed bluegrass music, RVing, and traveling to bluegrass music festivals and jam sessions. She also enjoyed sewing and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include a daughter, Monica Erdos and her husband, Ted, of Saegertown, Crawford County; her fiance, William Simmons of Butler; two sisters, Marsha Scott and her husband, Bill, of Meadville and Diane Harned of Meadville; and three grandchildren, Marley, Lexie and Lainie.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a half-brother, Kenneth C. Herrick.

<B>DEAN</B> — Calling hours for Roberta A. "Bobbie" Dean, who died Wednesday, March 3, 2010, will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the <B>Robert W. Waid Funeral Home</B>, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Harold Ferraro, pastor of the New Beginnings Church of God, officiating.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Hospice of Crawford County, 464 Pine St., Meadville, PA 16335, or to the Yolanda G. Barco Oncology Institute, 16792 Conneaut Lake Road, Meadville, PA 16335.
