Young

Donna M. Young, 76, of the Chicora Medical Center died Sunday.

She was born in Butler, Aug. 8, 1933, a daughter of the late Hubert A. and Grace Conrad Mahood.

A homemaker, Mrs. Young was a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church, Butler. She had been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary at the Lyndora Post.

She was a talented artist and had been voted the "Most Artistic" member of her 1951 Butler High School graduation class.

She loved to read and enjoyed traveling but was most devoted to be a mother and grandmother.

She was the widow of Kenneth L. Young. They married Dec. 27, 1955, and he died May 5, 2007. She also was preceded in death by a sister, Grace Elaine Ligas.

Surviving are two daughters and their husbands, Christine and Jerry McGarrah of Butler and Victoria and Glenn Lines of Trumansville, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Rachel and Andrew Goettler, Adrianna and Tristan McGarrah, and Elijah Lines; a sister, Patricia Zabicki of Chicora; and an uncle, the Rev. Simon Conrad, OFM Cap. of Hays, Kan.
