William H. Bauer
William H. Bauer, 90, of Harrisville died Monday while visiting his daughter in Illinois.
Born in Pittsburgh, May 26, 1919, he was the son of George W. Bauer and Ella (Hoelzmann) Bauer.
A graduate of Harrisville High School, he was a machine operator for the former Cooper Energy in Grove City and retired in 1981 after 40 years.
He was a former member of the Harrisville Volunteer Fire Department.
Mr. Bauer was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
His wife, Elizabeth P. (Myers) Bauer, who he married Sept. 16, 1939, died Jan. 25, 2007.
Surviving are two daughters, Karen J. Holtz of Illinois and Joyce A. Zalis and her husband, Joseph, of Astor, Fla.; a son, James W. Bauer and his wife, Mary, of Harrisville; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters.
