Man injured in pickup, motorcycle crash
CENTER TWP — A man was taken by medical helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital Saturday morning after his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck.
Police did not release the names of the individuals in the crash, which occurred about 5:20 a.m. at the intersection of Route 8 and Mercer Road.
The motorcyclist was conscious and complained of head and back pain, while the driver of the truck, its only occupant, refused medical treatment at the scene, according to Chief Greg Brewster of the Unionville Volunteer Fire Company.
The intersection was closed for about an hour while the fire company and state police investigated and cleared the road of debris. Butler Ambulance Service personnel also were at the scene.
