Samuel Kononchuk of San Antonio, Texas, a retired U.S. Air Force master sergeant, was born Jan. 1, 1925, in Lyndora, and he entered into eternal rest Thursday at the age of 85 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Rose Kononchuk; a sister, Ann Desmond; his daughter, Diana Lynn Kononchuk; and a son, Michael S. Kononchuk.

He was loved and will be missed.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Virginia B. Kononchuk; sons, Samuel and Paul Kononchuk; daughters, Debora Wilson and Carrie Flores; his brother, Frank Kononchuk; along with many in-laws; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

<B>Kononchuk</B> — Visitation for Samuel Kononchuk, who died Thursday, March 25, 2010, was Monday at the Castle Ridge Mortuary, San Antonio, Texas, where the rosary was recited at 7 p.m. The funeral service was at 9 a.m. today at the mortuary.
