RIMERSBURG — Union High School is performing the musical "Bye, Bye Birdie" at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the school, 354 Baker St.

Based on the book by Michael Stewart with music by Charles Strouse and lyrics by Lee Adams, "Bye, Bye Birdie" tells the story of rock star Conrad Birdie and his trip to Sweet Apple, Ohio, where he will kiss a lucky fan before being drafted into the Army.

The show is being directed by David Gibson, with Cindy Culp as assistant director. Lisa Hummel is pit director, with Sue Huber as stage manager and Dave Whitmire in charge of sound.

Set painting is being done by Darla Lipps, with set construction by Bob Ruffner.

Students Valerie Graham and Rochele Krieble will do lighting.
