Harold Kenneth Riddle, 66, of Bredinville, Lyndora, died early Monday morning at Butler Memorial Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Butler on Oct. 21, 1943, a son of the late Harold and Doris Meals Riddle.

Ken was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Thailand during the Vietnam War. He had been an honor graduate of the Army's Microwave Radio Equipment Repair and Tropospheric Scatter School at Fort Monmouth, N.J. He served for three years and attained the rank of Specialist 5.

He had retired in February 2002 after 40 years of employment at AK Steel Corp., working in its tech services department.

Ken enjoyed hunting and train collecting and was a member of the Train Collector Association and the Pennsylvania Railroad Technical and Historical Society. He also was a member of St. Fidelis Catholic Church in Lyndora.

Surviving are his wife, Carol Konar Riddle, who he married Sept. 1, 1962; two sons, Kenneth W. Riddle and Keith E. Riddle, both at home; a sister, Kay Steffler, and her husband, Ray, of Valencia; an aunt, Verna McKain of Butler; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, David E. Riddle, in February 2009.

<B>Riddle </B>— Friends of Harold Kenneth Riddle, who died Monday, April 5, 2010, will be received from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Rev. George Palick of St. Fidelis Catholic Church in Lyndora will officiate. Following cremation, internment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Butler.In lieu of flowers, please give to the charity of your choice.
