Alan D. Smith, 56, of Buffalo Township died Friday at his home.

Mr. Smith was born Aug. 15, 1953, in Ferndale, Mich., to Harold E. "Bud" and Eloise M. Best Smith of Sarver.

He worked for many years at Stereo Land in Natrona Heights.

He was a member of the Freeport United Methodist Church in Freeport.

He loved spending time with his nieces and nephews, the outdoors, lawn work, and flower gardening, and he especially liked helping others.

Besides his parents, he is also survived by his wife of 32 years, Violet K. Woods Smith; his siblings, Debra Jardine of Sarver, Kimberly (Dennis) Postupack of Alpharetta, Ga., David Smith of Natrona Heights and Lisa Fuhrman of Freeport; his niece and nephews, Ryan Fuhrman, Lauren Fuhrman and Christopher Jardine; and his sister-in-law, Diane (David) Scott of Natrona Heights.

<B>SMITH </B>— Family and friends of Alan Smith, who died Friday, April 9, 2010, are invited from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday to the <B>ROBERT PETERS FUNERAL HOME</B>, 1521 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights (724-224-7730). A service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Edd Myers, officiating.
