Maurice E. Abbott

Maurice E. Abbott of Hidden Meadows Circle, Renfrew, died at 10:50 a.m. Monday in Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born in Tamworth, N.H., he was the son of the late William D. Abbott and Alta Nickerson Abbott.

Mr. Abbott was a member of the Meridian Vets Club.

He attended Kennett High School in Conway, N.H. He was a graduate of the University of New Hampshire, where he earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.

He worked at the Westinghouse Electric Co. for 39 years.

He was a pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps, and he was a second lieutenant serving during wartime at various Air Force bases in the United States.

Mr. Abbott is survived by his wife, Dorothy J. Abbott, who he married May 12, 1951; one son, Steven W. Abbott of Cary, N.C.; one daughter, Hollis L. Chepponis of Valencia; one granddaughter, Jaclyn Chepponis of Valencia; and one grandson, Tyler Chepponis of Valencia.

<B>ABBOTT</B> — Private services for Maurice E. Abbott, who died Monday, April 12, 2010, are at <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B> at the family's convenience.
