David N. Huntington

David N. Huntington, 59, of Taggart Road, Slippery Rock, died at 7:36 p.m. Monday at West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a lengthy illness.

Born in Grove City, Feb. 13, 1951, he was the son of Floyd T. Huntington and Mary E. (Brandon) Huntington Wiedenhofer.

A 1969 graduate of Slippery Rock, High School, he retired from the Slippery Rock University Police Department in 2000 after 30 years.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he enjoyed spending time with his beloved family.

He was a U.S. Navy Vietnam War veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Nancy R. (Burke) Huntington, who he married July 26. 1975; four sons, Timothy A. Huntington and his wife, Opal, of Salomanca, N.Y., David R. Huntington of Jamestown, N.Y., Robert J. Huntington and his wife, Brooke, of Slippery Rock and Joshua J. Huntington and his wife, Breanna, of Slippery Rock; grandchildren, Devan, Darin, Rochelle, Kyrria, Karly and Morgan; two sisters, Beverly Aspinall of Uniontown and Margaret Anderson of Huntley, Ill.; and two brothers, Ronald Huntington and his wife, Linda, of Gonzales, Texas, and Floyd "Jim" Huntington of Oakwood, Ga.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gerald "Fred" Huntington; and his stepfather, George Wiedenhofer.

<B>HUNTINGTON</B> — Friends of David N. Huntington, who died Monday, April 19, 2010, may call from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at <B>Jamison Funeral Home</B>, 117 N. Main St., Harrisville. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Travis J. Richendrfer of Grace Tabernacle Assembly of God of Slippery Rock officiating.
