Michael B. Bailey, 61, of Zelienople, formerly of South Hills, died at his home surrounded by his family on Thursday following a courageous battle with an autoimmune disease and cancer.

Born Oct. 31, 1948, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Bernie and Mary Frances (McGinley) Bailey.

Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, snorkeling, traveling to the beach with his family, and he was an avid Steelers fan.

He was a member of the Cranberry Elks, Penn's Waters Bass Busters Club, the K.B.B.C. and B.A.S.S. Mike was a proud Eagle Scout who later served as a Scout Master and as an assistant coach for Midget Wrestling. He also gave of his time by fostering a child from Northern Ireland through the I.P.P.C.H. Despite his active life, Mike valued his family above all else, especially time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sallie (Packer) Bailey, who he married Dec. 19, 1970; two sons, Michael S. Bailey (August) of Jackson Township and Patrick C. Bailey (Amanda) of Rochester; brother, Dennis Bailey (Susan) and their daughters, Bridget and Jennifer of Mount Lebanon; sister, Marilu Bailey of Rough Creek, Pa.; three precious grandchildren, Kalen, Tara and Samantha; mother-in-law, Sallie "Peggy" Packer of Bethel Park; brother-in-law, C. Richard Packer (Lisa) of Gibsonia; dear family friend and "daughter" Jen Heusey (Tom) and their children, C.T., Stephanie, Chloe, Sarah and Emma of Zelienople.

<B>BAILEY</B> — Friends of Michael B. Bailey, who died Thursday, April 22, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E.
