Dorothy Munday
Dorothy (Corey) Munday, 87, of Butler passed away Sunday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Feb. 7, 1923, in Jamestown, N.Y., the daughter of the late Robert Corey and Clara (Berghoff) Corey.
Her family moved to Wheeling, W.Va., shortly after her birth, and she lived there most of her life.
She graduated from Warwood High School in 1941. She worked at Scott Lumber Co. and United Dairy Co. as a bookkeeper for many years.
She married Harry Munday in 1947.
She moved to Butler in 1978, where she worked as an in-home care provider for many years.
She enjoyed walking every day at Alameda Park before her illness. She also was a seamstress and artist in her early years. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She will be dearly missed by all.
Surviving are a daughter, Jean Mochel of Butler; a son, Gary Munday of Edgewater, Md.; two grandchildren, Jill (Lou) Trimbur of Manteno, Ill., and Mark (Karen) Crossetti of Phoenix; four great-grandchildren, Mike, Paige, Colton and Tyler; a brother, John (Ruth) Corey of Wheeling, W.Va.; a sister, Gene (Ed) Orell of Sarasota, Fla.; and a sister-in-law, Ev Corey of Modesto, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother, Bob Corey.
