Richard E. Brill, 69, of Harmony died peacefully Monday at his home surrounded by his bride and best friend, Mary Ann (Golling) Brill, who he married Oct. 11, 1969, and his daughters, Ashlyn and Jennifer.

He also is survived by his many family members, among them his cousin and lifelong friend, Francis Grzelka.

Born May 1, 1941, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Edward and Josephine (Grzelka) Brill.

Mr. Brill attended St. Gregory Roman Catholic Church in Zelienople. As a member, he volunteered in Appalachia repairing homes. For the past 25 years, Richard made world famous funnel cakes at St. Gregory's Lawn Fete and Cranberry Community Days. He volunteered at St. Paul's Lutheran Church filming musical performances of several youth groups.

Richard also enjoyed dancing, listening to oldies, home remodeling projects and engineering model trains. A favorite tradition was baking Easter paska bread, which he delivered to friends and family.

He retired as an operations officer in telecommunications at PNC Bank.

Richard will be truly missed by the countless lives he touched.

<B>BRILL</B> — Friends of Richard E. Brill, who died Monday, May 3, 2010, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Gregory Catholic Church, 2 W. Beaver St., Zelienople, with Father Robert M. Miller officiating.
