Mrs. Julia Ann "Julie" Young, 65, of Buffalo Township passed away peacefully at 3:20 a.m. Tuesday at the Good Samaritan Hospice House in Wexford.

Julia was born in Natrona Heights, July 3, 1944, the daughter of the late Joseph and Bessie (Mazga) Gernat.

She was the widow of Glenn R. "Sonny" Young, who passed away in 2005.

She was a mother and a homemaker most of her life, but had worked for Freeport Transport for a number of years.

Julie enjoyed boating, fishing, flower gardening, yard work and soaking in the sun by the pool.

She always was involved with the Buffalo Township Community Days and sold tickets at the Lernerville Speedway for the Buffalo Township Volunteer Fire Department for many years.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Jeffery) Hensley of Bridgeville; a son, Scott R. Young of Coraopolis; a sister, Patricia (James) Gigliotti of Tyler, Texas; her companion with whom she lived, Warren Capons; two grandchildren, Joshua and Rebecca "Becca" Rock of Bridgeville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

<B>YOUNG</B> — Family and friends of Julia Ann "Julie" Young, who died Tuesday, May 11, 2010, are being received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the <B>Redmond Funeral Home</B>, 524 High St. Freeport. A memorial service at will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with Father Edward Volz officiating. Burial will be private.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Allegheny Valley School, 1996 Ewing Mill Road, Coraopolis, PA 15108, Attn: Dorothy Gordon.
