Freda R. Schaffer
Freda Rebecca Simmers Schaffer, 89, of Butler died Saturday.
Born June 9, 1920, in Craigsville, Armstrong County, she was a daughter of the late Roy D. Simmers and Mabel (Ruth) Simmers.
Freda previously worked at Stanley's Bakery and at Troutman's department store, both in Butler.
She was a member of the St. Peter Roman Catholic Church.
Freda enjoyed playing the piano.
She was a homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family was her most precious possession.
Survivors include two sons, George (Nancy) Schaffer of Chicago and Paul (Renee) Schaffer of Butler; a daughter, Patti (Rick) Eisenhuth of Butler; grandchildren, Diane (Ron) Nelson, Mike Suchonic, Greg (Anna) Angert, Stacie Angert, Mark (Jessica) Schaffer, Scott Schaffer, Eric (Jodie) Eisenhuth, Corey Eisenhuth, Lauren (Ryan) Parker and Krista Schaffer; three step-grandchildren, Greg Foy and Joshua and Matthew Smith; two great-grandsons, Dylan and Chase Eisenhuth; three step-great-grandsons, Kyle, Jacob and Lucas Foy; two sisters, Leona Ruffaner of Worthington and Della Sliker of Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Freda was predeceased by two daughters, Carol Suchonic and Sally Angert.
