Thomas J. Duggan
Thomas J. Duggan, 78, of Meridian, beloved husband, father and grandfather, died at 2 p.m. Wednesday with his wife by his side.
Born July 21, 1931, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late Charles and the late Marion Aylward Duggan.
Mr. Duggan was a land surveyor for more than 40 years.
He was a member of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church. He was an active volunteer for the St. Fidelis Church fish fries.
He was a volunteer for the Bellmore Fire Department for more than 25 years.
He enjoyed being with family and having dinner with friends. Mr. Duggan also enjoyed swimming, gardening, reading, sports, fishing, hiking with family at Letchworth State Park in New York and watching the grandchildren grow.
Mr. Duggan was a corporal in the U.S. Army 1st Infantry serving in Germany.
Mr. Duggan is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lois, who he married May 14, 1960; one son, Thomas W. Duggan and his wife, Barbara, of Butler; two daughters, Tracey Nevel and her husband, Tom, of Meridian and Linda Harris and her husband, Michael, of Bradford Woods; and six grandchildren, Meghan and Matthew Duggan, Marissa, Matthew and Michael Harris and Jennifer Nevel.
Mr. Duggan was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
<B>DUGGAN</B> — Friends of Thomas J. Duggan, who died Wednesday, June 2, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St., Butler. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. George Palick of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church officiating.
